The founder of the firm, with nearly 50 years of legal experience, Jay H. Rick is a substantial presence in New York law, especially in his areas of expertise: banking and real estate, domestic and international trade financing and secured transactions.
For decades, he guided the firm to its present preeminence and continues as a pivotal legal influence, representing numerous blue-chip clients. During his distinguished career, Mr. Rick has represented many banks, domestic and foreign, including multi-national ones, and other financial institutions. His practice continues to focus on all aspects of banking, including all varieties of lending. In addition, he represents quasi-governmental agencies that administer government funded loan programs and government guaranteed bond issues. He has also represented companies in the business of foreign exchange trading.
In his real estate practice, Mr. Rick represents landlords, developers, and investors as well financial institutions. He has been particularly active in the area of co-op and condominium conversions.
Mr. Rick earned his JD from Yale Law School in 1954.
